Oh I write blogs too but those have their own dramas! Life is too entertaining for words!
(But since words are all I have, let me use them best I can then!)
I abuse grammar and have no shame in it!
I also smell really nice but you'll have to just trust me on that! ^_^
Yes, yes, lots of religious spouting and yes yes, a simple seeming story, but I really liked how everything came together in the end and would it KILL people to enjoy a book that actually celebrates the good in humans rather then coming with a whole, "He was a great person BUT..." The whole point of being human is to be better than just animal living, don't you think? Well I loved the book, know there is one really KICK YOU IN THE FACE dark part towards the end of the book and you WILL be required to bring tissues if you don't want to leak all over your reading device, otherwise though? Enjoy the experience !
With its silly humor and take on life I thought I'd be the first to adore this book, but the unrelenting, though at least not fully IN YOUR FACE, cynicism kept catching at my mind and I found that I couldn't relate to it as much as I wanted to. Eh well.
I get what the author is trying to achieve, but honestly it's still gross no matter how much philosophy you try coat it with.
When you get over the not-entirely-without-meaning swearing this book is such a strange ride, who would want to live on a floating island of garbage? Well after reading this I might not mind a bit of a visit there! Although hopefully not to be as hated as Tetley, poor sod. Uniquely different!
Katniss and I won't ever be bosom buddies but I did love the book, it was unusual and interesting and Peter was absolute magic, hold onto him Katti, he's kind and in touch with his feelings and he bakes! You can't buy that!
No more witchier a book than this one, it gives you the feeling that maybe, possibly, perhaps, life is every bit as magical as you hoped it would be - if you're willing to put the effort in, of course...
It had potential but I had a whole idea of where it would go and it managed to somehow go way, way, way off course and became a slog to read. I doubt even if I had clones one of them would want to read this...
Sometimes, once in a blood moon, the movie is a lot better than the book, here we have one such shining moment!
The only Odd Thomas book I sort of liked, monks, ghost dogs, interdimensional monsters, what's not to love?
Once Simon snuffed it I was like, go forth and do whatever you little brats - which they did, in spades!
