So the idea was interesting but the execution was poor to be honest. I just didn't believe his personality change either as a reader and I didn't really feel like things came to a satisfying conclusion for the both of them. There is another book in the series where it might address them but frankly I don't feel compelled enough read it.

Sometimes you just have to applaud after a book ends you know? And then immediately request an encore and start looking for the author's next work.

For me, this was *that* book. This is my first time reading Khai Hara and if this is the consistent quality of her work, then it won't be my last.

I loved this couple. I genuinely felt like together they just *clicked*. Which for me is high praise because usually I find a problem with them one way or another. Usually, it's because one of them is just plain stupid but we're being told that they're smart, or there is a level of miscommunication that shouldn't exist between two grown adults.

Whatever miscommunication that happened between these two either didn't last long, or there was accountability being taken for their participation in the miscommunication.

I just came off the heels of a novel that I hated and I felt like I was in a book hangover if you will. If you need another novel to fuel your addiction then look no further because this will keep you hooked until your next relapse.

This novel was a long road to nowhere

There really was no plot whatsoever just three facts: he's obsessive, she's indecisive and they have nothing between them but sex. I was genuinely horrified to find out that this was part of a trilogy. I wished I was surprised about that even though none of their problems were hashed out and discussed like rational, reasonable adults. Of course not. That's too easy.

I'm sad that I wasted $4 on this book. If someone were to ask me what happened in this book, I honestly couldn't tell them. The writing was so dense, that I genuinely felt like I was stupid or something because I didn't understand what was happening in a scene. And what I did understand, I hated so there's that.

Standing ovation for this one!

Right out the gate this specific trope isn't really my favorite. It makes me feel like I'm watching a car crash happening, something that is horrible and tramatic but I just can't peel my eyes away from it. This wasn't my favorite in the series but it was pretty good. A little unrealistic with the amount of cursing going on but doable. Truly it was the lying and a very specific secret that made me take away a star.

I actually wish that we could get a little more insight with some of the other couples in this book but alas

I frankly thought it was boring. The idea that Marquess is acting as Robin Hood didn't really stick with me. I felt like he was surrounded by too much privilege to be a real Robin Hood despite what he said. FL was pretty one dimensional as well. I felt no reason to like her, but there was chemistry between the characters but not nearly enough for my liking. What I will say is that the villian was unexpected. That being said the reasons for being a villain were not solid enough in my opinion and the response on the ML part wasn't rational enough for me. The book could have been shorter and accomplish the same task honestly.

This series has set the feminist in me back 100 years. And I'm ok with that because this was a well-written, spicy, guilty pleasure. But beware because these male characters are narcissistic and chauvinistic to a t.

Half the time I was thinking FIGHT

I stumbled upon an unusual niche of the historical romance genre that I never imagined I would explore. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. By the end of the book, I found myself shedding tears, which was both unexpected and heartwarming.

This was one of the first times in my life where I've read the book before the TV show/ Movie and it's the first time that I've felt regret for that hit me it the gut like a sucker punch. This book was absolutely ludicrous. First off: It's 1,500 pages for absolutely no reason except to most likely bore me into a DNF. However, I persevered! Mainly by reading a little of the beginning and the end of each chapter. This book could literally have been slimmed down a third and still kept all the vital information.

The main reason I continued with this is because Jamie was the books saving grace. Somewhat. I thought his character was cute and loveable for the most part, but other times he had me literally wanting to bash my head into a wall. Claire's way of thinking is completely foreign and unnatural to me. She's from 1945 and gets dropped into 1740 Scotland and starts working and reacting like nothing is wrong.

I would write more to this review but thinking about the end of thing book has suddenly exhausted me again
