Reading Stats (537 books)
What I liked:
The story being told from multiple characters unlike the first 3 books
It was a nice tie up to Rhys and Feyra’s story.
What I didn’t like:
Pretty much everything else.
We didn’t need this book. Slim down ACOWAR, take half these chapters and add to that book would’ve been perfect.
It was not worth it to buy this book.
Knowing that the next book is Nesta and Cassian’s story, I thought this book could have had more of a lead in to that. We didn’t need so much of Rhys and Feyra in my opinion.
Not usually my cup of tea, a lot of non consensual sexual scenes, girl and child trafficking.
I’d say about 50% is vivid sex scenes, but the stories behind it are good. A vigilante who rescues these women and children, an unsolved murder case.
Ends on a cliff hanger so now I have to read the next one to know what happens (even tho I figured out pretty early what the cliff hanger would be).
Very graphic so if graphic isn’t for you, I would not recommend. Definitely has triggers in it too for trauma survivors.
First half dragged, was very hard to want to keep reading. Poor character development. When I finally couldn’t put the book down and got to the end, it was anticlimactic and a let down. No twist, just blah.
I had a hard time getting into this book, actually put it down for a long time. But when i picked it back up i couldn’t stop. It drew me in and made me feel so much. Definitely shocked me at the end.
Felt like the book would never end. It dragged on and on and on.
Had to force myself to finish it.
A bit predictable....
The pages kept me turning, but I figured out the twist about 1/2 way thru.
I definitely liked it, but was expecting more of a shock.
I also wouldn't label this a psychological thriller. It most certainly was not.
Loved this book. Couldn't put it down! First time reading this author, and I look forward to reading her other books. A great psychological ghost read!
This book was long and at times very hard to get thru. It did keep me guessing though right up to the end, which is what kept me reading. Quite a few reviews said it was predictable, but I only figured out half of The Who dun it, the other half was a shocker.
29 books in series. A tad overkill. Easy reads, not bad. Similar to the Immortal Instruments series.
