I enjoyed the writing, storytelling, the format and the use if the famous "zombie thrope" but making it uniqe and feeling fresh. Altough I must admit that I had to put the book down repeatedly as it a lot about politics and conservatives and felt at times to heavy and "brain rotting". But definitely a 4 star read and was in a diffrent type of way.

Got this for review on netgally.

2.5 stars, rounded up for the audiobook version. The narration was very good but unfortunately I didn't like the way the story was told. Felt very much like being inside someone's head that is having a bad time with nental health and the ending just didn't work either. Didn't feel like it was moving forward with the whole mystery more a downwards spiral of a family.

I feelt very bad for the dog and didn't really understand the point with that whole thing.

It wasn't a story for me unfortunately

Not a favorite zombie series or feeling overly original but finding myself invested in the story and intrigued to continue with the next one.

I'm not sure how to rate this, one part of me want to rate this a 3 stars and the other 4 stars. The plot was very intruiging and something I know very little about. About lack of deveristy in the publishing career. It had some really readable bits but at some parts it feelt like the story never really got going and it was at time hard to keep focus on the book. I want to read more by Zakiya Dalila Harries in the future for sure as I I did enjoy this book in parts. Liked the topics discussed

This one had no redeeming qualities for me. At first I didn't enjoy the constant jump from diffrent times and it gave me a feeling of pure yuck that they kept meeting when Clare was very young and Henry much older. Didn't find the story engaging to read nor the romance swoony at all. Had high hopes for this one but I'm glad I bought it second hand and won't feel bad returning it

2.5 stars. The beginning was cute, liked that Poirot popped sometimes. I quickly got rather bored by this and it made me sad. I like middle grade from time to time but this wasn't for me. I might try the next book to see if I like it better because the writing wasn't bad and it was rather fun at parts.

There where things I really enjoyed with the story and characters. Especially the main characters and the way kindred worked. But it didn't quite go to 4stars, more of a 3.5 stars. But would read something else by this author for sure

The blurb, the cover and the title intrigued me a lot to pick it up and I'm very glad that I wasn't disappointed. Had a few duds but this wasn't one of them. An intriguing story that was exciting to listen to and never got dull.

3.7 stars rounded up. This is a feminist work written in 1899. About a woman's journey of self discovery. Questioning her ideas about marriage, motherhood, society, art and the nature of love. It was shocking when it first came out and I'm glad things have moved forward since then. It's not my favorite works of fiction, didn't get as drawing in the story as I would have liked but I loved what it represents and the way it made womens voice heard and was one of the text fighting for female equality. And important work for sure but not the most enjoyable for me personally

A good domestic thriller to spend some time with with an intriguing premise but nothing that was overly intense to read or will be stuck in my mind for a long time. Been a bit "tired" of children in danger ppl lot point I thrillers, don't have kids on my own but rather not read it anywho. But this was still an somewhat intriguing thriller not as action packed and intense and some others
