I really enjoyed this John Marrs book. Some of his in the past have been hit or miss but I enjoyed this one. The premise to me is...scary. I know it sounds nuts but AI is kind of scary for me ! I don't think I'd be comfortable going into a metaverse and feeling/smelling/experiencing another life and taking care of a child. It just is unsettling. And then after experiencing this extremely lifelike "person" they can just be "deleted"...nah. I also think reality TV can be fun, but most of it is just gross. I think the exploitation is shown well in this book- from one family using sponsorships/ads to having the "opportunity" to inflict a hardship on a family by voting. Anyways, this was a good read but sometimes was repetitive.
2.5 ? I honestly don't know how to rate this. I would get bad vives then really be into it. I don't know. I feel weird about this book.
What a great short read about a woman with mental illness. Sure, it's like you want to shake her and just can't relate (or maybe you can? I did at some points haha) but it felt raw and obsessive. I feel like this is a love it or hate it and I loved it.
Man I enjoyed this story a lot. It felt so timely and appropriate.
It took me a bit to really get into this but once I did I loved it! A strange story that had me unable to put it down
I really enjoyed this story. However I wish an editor would have went over this a few more times; or even just one more time. Overall it was a great read.
3.5 stars
I enjoyed this book and couldn't stop listening to it, but some parts fell flat. I was finding myself bored. I also didn't realize how much paranormal was going to be in this story. I didn't get that there would be a lot from the description but that's maybe on me. Still, overall I enjoyed this story and really enjoyed the narrator.
I really enjoyed this story as weird as it was. I do wish the whole story was as creepy as the last sentences of the book, but I did enjoy and would recommend. Story was a quick read and I was dying to know what happened next!
Overall, this was certainly a good read. I like how it felt like I was the author (with the added commentary). However I definitely can see how this can. Be annoying to some. It got annoying at some parts, but I mostly laughed. Would reccomend.
