I know that this book has rave reviews and a lot of people enjoyed it. That said - it just wasn’t for me. The characters that the reader is supposed to care about are flimsy at best, which is understandable given that we have to care about SO many. I skimmed over most of the POV of the “Death Lady.” TBH I feel like this book would have been vastly more interesting without her perspective included. The ending felt cheap and anti-climactic. I almost DNFed this book, but decided to finish it, and I’m pretty apathetic about my decision to do so.

This book is an absolute treasure. It is beautiful, haunting, sexy, raw, and unflinchingly genuine.

Loved the plot; hated how unnecessarily long the book was. Could have easily been 200 pages shorter and no substance would have been lost.

First off: WOW. This has to be my favorite book I’ve read this year. This book was so hauntingly addictive. I read it over the course of one Sunday. This book challenged me in a lot of ways, especially morally. I was at once both disgusted yet charmed and starving to know the fate of Wavy and Kellen. I even found myself rooting for them.

Problematic and repulsive? Yes. Beautiful and enchanting? Yes. Should anyone under the age of 18 read this? Absolutely not. Actually, wait until 25 when your brain is fully developed, then read this.

This book was so…anticlimactic. It wasn’t bad, just bland. A very interesting plot, but left me wanting more.

I feel like this book had a very clever, unique premise, and for the first half of it, I was expecting this to be a 4 or 5 star book. I did not like the format: Netflix, and podcast, and typical novel excerpts all thrown together just felt messy. After the first half, the events of the second were fairly predictable, so it got to a point where I couldn’t wait for the book to be over.

Uhhhhhhhhh I feel like reality has been altered. I feel like I can’t trust anyone or anything after reading this book. What the fuq did I just read?! 5 stars for you again, Ian Reid.

what the fuq did i just read. 5 stars for originality; this novel was quite unlike anything i’ve ever read.

boring. didn’t care about a single character. DNF

Oh my god…this book was thrilling, gruesome, addictive, and clever. I read it in a day. I started to feel like I was part of this twisted, cunning little group of teens. Phenomenal writing.
