Surprisingly good for a Harlequin Presents. Typically I skip the Presents, but I was in a mood for comfort reading, which means category romance, and the library's new books shelf was rather bare, so I grabbed it anyway. Glad I did, good, strong writing, and believable characters.
Tearjerker
Don't know if the author is from the NW, but is adept at providing an authentic local feel.
That's a rare skill, indeed.
And the ending? I was afraid it would ruin the rest of it. Instead, it's perfect. Thank you.
Story is decent, if a bit farfetched... and if one reads it remembering it's set in 1989.
The end definitely surprised me. It was already thought-provoking... and that just sort of topped it off.
Great set up, well written characters, but the ending seemed like the author wrote themselves into a corner and solved it by simply killing everyone.
