This book (particularly the audiobook) holds a special place in my heart ❤️
I felt like this was pretty pessimistic and depressing, even in the end :/
Some cool ideas and obviously the format was unique, but the writing style for a lot of the characters bugged me
(I found it extra hard to get into anything narrated by the AI, which was unfortunate since that was the entire climax)

(not Ezra being alive because I guessed that immediately, but Kady being the one who compiled the documents)
was a great note to end on though, almost made me want to pick up the next one. I'll probably end up reading a summary online though
Such a sweet, cozy book and a nice quick read. I had actual tears in my eyes at the end. Loved it ❤️
There are so many terrible people in this book, but I can't help but be fascinated by them, hoping to see the younger generations overcome the trauma of the older ones. And the vibes of this setting are immaculate. I read this as a teenager and it was even better a decade later.
I couldn't put this one down. It was beautiful, tragic, and lovely, and I was surprised multiple times. The plot dragged a little in places, but the characters were so well-developed I barely noticed.
This was fantastic. I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while, and I'll be reading the second as soon as it's out. It was nothing like the tightly-plotted books I've tended towards lately, but it was a wild ride! The book might have been long but I couldn't put it down.
Been looking for a good fantasy murder mystery, and this one hit the spot! I fell in love with Din very quickly and loved his Sherlock-and-Watson dynamic with the eccentric Ana. Super cool worldbuilding too, with a fun, Lovecraftian-flavored magic system.

Really loved all the piratey things! The characters fell a little flat for me, though I can't put my finger on why. I think I wanted to see more flaws/stronger arcs from the main characters. I also thought the romance lacked a bit of chemistry, though it was fun for a subtle romance that didn't dominate the plot. Despite that, the events in the story were very cool, the pirate vibes were impeccable, and I enjoyed the read!
