Who Would Like This Book:

If you crave sweet, earnest heroes and fast-blooming, angst-free romance, Hot Blooded by Heather Guerre may melt your heart! This contemporary paranormal romp features a cinnamon roll vampire MMC (who’s oddly delightful and a gentleman, but with a spicy side!) and a tough, relatable, overworked nurse heroine. The relationship is all about open communication, enthusiastic consent (CNC done right!), and grown-up vulnerability, with both leads respecting and uplifting each other. It’s a great pick for readers who are tired of avoidant heroes, love nurturing MMCs, want more representation (bisexual MCs, curvy FMC), and adore spicy yet emotionally intelligent romance. If you’re burned out on angsty romances where everyone plays games, this is an absolute treat.

Who May Not Like This Book:

Not every reader was swept off their feet. Some were turned off by the consensual non-consent (CNC) kink - even though it’s handled carefully and always discussed beforehand, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Others found the external plot lacking, the pacing slow, or the drama involving the FMC’s family a bit stressful or repetitive. A handful didn’t vibe with the less-standard vampire MMC (not your typical brooding, impossibly gorgeous hero), or felt the book was light on plot and a little too focused on the day-to-day. So, if you prefer slow burns, complex fantasy world-building, or high-stakes drama, this might feel too cozy or low-conflict.

A swoony, spicy, low-drama paranormal romance with standout character dynamics and refreshingly healthy communication. Hot Blooded is perfect for those wanting an emotional, mature love story - with a healthy dose of consensual kink!

Desperate times call for desperate measures…

Saddled with insurmountable debt, Tessa is desperate for a way out. When she's referred to an agency that pairs vampires with blood donors as a quick way to make some cash, she has no choice but to accept an arrangement.

She expects pain. She expects fear. She expects a predator. But what she gets is something entirely different. Her vampire match is... sweet. Kind. Protective. And the way he makes her feel is anything but painful.

Can the ends justify the means…?

Amos has long since given up on the idea of ever finding a blood mate.

This was just okay. Written in 3rd POV, not my favourite but it worked in this one.

Our vampire mmc was surprisingly sweet and cute. Was a very cozy read considering its vampires. xD Was very little angst and action though. Was a weird mix of too much smut without it even having any real action haha, our fmc goes uh, crazy when shes being fed on. Without any extra stimuli xD Was one of the things that dragged this down for me, was too repetitive.

Also I wanted to punch our fmcs mother, holy she pissed me off.

Not much more to say than that, wasn't anything too special.

Better then i thought it would be. The mmc is very caring. But where was his gifts to her.

DNF. FMC just felt too cliched and I wasn't feeling it. I think RH has ruined for me for pairings.

This is quite a sweet vampire love story with lots of primal play as well -- he loves the hunt and she loves giving up power, so they play with it. I feel like part of what it's doing is setting up the vampire lore for later entries in the series.

LOVED IT. Major predator and prey kink but super sweet and a good intro into the vampire sector of Tooth & Claw world. I'd love to see more of Philipie and his story.
