Who Would Like This Book:
If you love a slow-burn, fake marriage setup with a hyper-competent heroine and a grumpy, alpha CEO hero, "The Favor" by Suzanne Wright will be right up your alley. The banter is sharp, the steam factor is high, and the found-family-plus-office-drama delivers loads of delicious tension. Fans of workplace romance and the marriage-of-convenience trope who don’t mind some angsty family/revenge drama will be especially happy. As a bonus, it’s got sensitive handling of mental health and trauma, plus endearing side characters and a heroine who takes zero nonsense.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Readers who aren't fans of constant drama, meddling exes, or over-the-top family shenanigans might find the non-stop chaos exhausting. If you prefer romance stories with dual points of view (getting inside both main characters’ heads), you might find the single POV here a bit limiting. The plot can feel a bit long and slow to some, and the hero's emotional stoicism may make it hard to fully connect with him for the first chunk of the book. Be aware of several heavy content themes (e.g., past abuse, mental illness).

From The Publisher:
MP3 CD Format Vienna Stratton knew she only had herself to blame. You didn't let yourself become indebted to a man like Dane Davenport, no matter how badly you needed his help. As his personal assistant, she was very aware that the globally successful CEO was ruthless and unforgiving.
Of course, if she'd known he'd request that she be his wife for twelve months, she'd have hesitated in accepting his help. Because what she'd learned from Dane was that the devil wasn't ugly and terrorizing. He was seductive and captivating. He hummed with whispers of temptation-the temptation to sin and surrender, to let him brand and possess you. He awakened every need and fantasy you had.
He could even make you love him.
Contains mature themes.

Didnt really feel the love. Even tho it was single pov he never really did anything to make me believe he actually liked her. The om/ow drama kept it intresting for a bit but by they time i got to him showing feelings i was bored and just wanted it to be over quicker.
Despite the awful cover this was actually pretty good & I thoroughly enjoyed it
This was a hell of a lot of fun. Something about Suzanne Wright's books just totally does it for me, and this one was no exception. Grumbly, grumpy alpha dude, smart, tough lead female... In this book we've got the fake marriage/marriage of convenience thing going on, and I just enjoyed the heck out of it.
Will definitely read this again.
I loved the communication between Dane and Vienna
