Who Would Like This Book:
If you're into fantasy romance with lush world-building, witty banter, and powerful slow-burn chemistry, this one's for you! "Bound to the Battle God" drops an everyday woman from modern Chicago into a gritty, medieval-flavored adventure alongside an arrogant (but oddly lovable) god. Fans of portal fantasy, sassy heroines, protective heroes, and enemies-to-lovers tension will feel right at home. The vibrant, immersive world and dynamic side characters add even more to love – perfect if you crave stories where characters actually grow (and make you laugh out loud).
Who May Not Like This Book:
Not everyone's cup of tea: if you dislike long books, first-person present tense, or a heroine who's a bit too snarky for your taste, you may struggle. Some readers found the pacing slow (especially at the start), or felt the main characters grated on them at times – specifically, an arrogant hero and a heroine who can come off as immature or repetitive. If you need tightly edited prose or can't handle a bit of plot chaos and lengthy internal monologues, you might bounce off this story.
About:
'Bound to the Battle God' follows the journey of Faith, a smart and practical woman who accidentally gets sucked into a portal to another realm and ends up being sold as a sacrifice to the God of War. However, things take a surprising turn when the God of War, Aron, asks for a volunteer to be his mortal anchor, leading Faith to step up. Together, Faith and Aron embark on a twisty and convoluted road to help Aron ascend back to his rightful place in the pantheon of gods. The story is set in a fantasy medieval-style landscape where the gods have been cast out of their version of heaven and must battle for dominance before ascending back to the aether.
The author, Ruby Dixon, weaves a tale filled with epic fantasy battles, complex characters, and a slow-burn romance between Faith and Aron. is praised for its phenomenal world-building, mix of mythologies, and fully fleshed-out characters, making it a captivating and engaging read that keeps readers hooked till the end.

From The Publisher:
When I went to my neighbor's apartment to investigate strange sounds, I never expected to fall through a portal into another world. Yet here I am, a stranger in an even stranger land...and I'm stranded. In this world, might makes right, men carry swords, and gods walk the earth. Within minutes of arriving, I'm enslaved.
The one person that might be able to help me is also the one person I want to throttle most. Aron, Lord of Storms, Butcher God of Battle, is my new companion. Or rather, I'm his. As Aron's anchor to the mortal realm, I'm the one that's supposed to be guiding him through his exile in the mortal world.
But Aron and I have a common goal - get home. And we're bonded - anchor and god - with a bond unlike any other. So, we travel together. We bicker. We bathe together. We fight our many, many enemies together. And sure, he's a god, but he's also an arrogant jerk. Brawny, smoking hot, irresistible jerk. I should want nothing to do with him. I certainly shouldn't want to do things to him.
Contains mature themes.
