This book was a very fast read, when I first saw it and read the first line I didn’t know it was gonna be really dark really fast. Some parts of the poem did resonate with me while others didn’t.

Most of these were very good, inspiring, and profound. Some were not for me, but I think that has more to do with the difficult subject matter than the writing.

****4.0****

It was a good collection. The poems are about regular life.

The book is divided into 4 parts: mind, heart, rest and awake.

Rupi's poems bring out the most uncomfortable parts of life. She talks about Mental issues, Abuse, relationships, women like usual. But this one even touched the issues like immigrants, productivity and stress.

“make it a point

to love yourself

as fiercely as you do other people

- commitment”

Happy Reading!!

The poems are short and beautiful. They inspire self-reflection and motivate one to consider how we view ourselves as well as how we love and appreciate who we are.

I love how Rupi uses words that calm your nerves. Some of her poems are small in lines yet big in meaning.
