In Lynsay Sands' book 'A Quick Bite', readers are introduced to Lissianna Argeneau, a vampire who suffers from hemaphobia, fainting at the sight of blood, which poses a significant challenge for her survival. To help her overcome this phobia, her mother kidnaps Dr. Gregory Hewitt, a psychologist specializing in curing phobias. As the two navigate their growing attraction amidst the backdrop of vampirism caused by biological nanotechnology from Atlantis, they face complications and dangers that threaten their happiness and lives. The story blends humor, romance, and mystery, offering a unique take on the classic vampire tale.
The book is the first in the Argeneau series, setting the stage for a long-running vampire saga that delves into the complexities of the Argeneau clan and their interactions with humans. With a mix of light paranormal romance, witty dialogue, and well-developed characters like the brave and compassionate Lissianna and the down-to-earth Dr. Greg, the narrative unfolds with humor, romance, and family dynamics, making it an engaging and entertaining read for fans of vampire fiction.

Has Romance?
The romance between Lissianna and Greg is a central theme of the story and is depicted as deepening throughout the narrative.
From The Publisher:
That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert-he's the main course!
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course, it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?
Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly-once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

Listened to audiobook and I didn't like the reader's voice. After getting over her voice and just focusing on the book, I was able to continue and finally finish it.
Ok, I know, vampires are supernatural and all authors have their interpretation of their origins, but Atlantis and nanites? Uh-huh
The "mystery" of the story wasn't much of one. It was pretty obvious, to me, from the beginning of the story and that's never a good sign.
The "romance" between Lissy and Greg was different, (in the way that he was presented to her by her mother for her birthday) and at times interesting. A vampire who faints at the sight of blood? :)
But, sadly, over all the book for me was just OK. I am not sure if I'll continue with the series, but was happy to see that later books received higher reader ratings/reviews and on two GR "best of" lists. Maybe the Argeneau series is worth continuing, maybe not.
It was okay but there was nothing special about it. I didn’t like the formula of the insta-love. The genesis of the vampire kind was quite unique. I am interested in Thomas story, so maybe I will read the other books some day.
