From The Publisher:

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

In Karen Marie Moning's latest installment of the epic Fever series, Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada are back-and the stakes have never been higher or the chemistry hotter. Hurtling us into a realm of labyrinthine intrigue and consummate seduction, Feverborn is a riveting tale of ancient evil, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, and the redemptive power of love.

When the immortal Fae destroyed the ancient wall dividing the worlds of Man and Faery, the very fabric of the universe was damaged, and now Earth is vanishing bit by bit. Only the long-lost Song of Making-a haunting, dangerous melody that is the source of life itself-can save the planet.

But those who seek the mythic song must contend with old wounds and new enemies, passions that burn hot and hunger for vengeance that runs deep. The challenges are many: the Keltar at war with nine immortals who've secretly ruled Dublin for eons, Mac and Jada hunted by the masses, the Seelie queen nowhere to be found, and the most powerful Unseelie prince in all creation determined to rule both Fae and Man. Now the task of solving the ancient riddle of the Song of Making falls to a band of deadly warriors divided among-and within-themselves.

Once a normal city possessing a touch of ancient magic, Dublin is now a treacherously magical city with only a touch of normal. And on those war-torn streets, Mac will come face-to-face with her most savage enemy yet: herself.

Praise for Feverborn

"Moning's world-building is extensive and inspired, and she never fails to keep the action fast and the stakes high. . . . The heroes' shared danger, victory, loss and turmoil translate into emotional intensity and sexual tension."-The New York Times Book Review

"Karen Marie Moning is back, burning up the pages with scorching tension, gasp-out-loud surprises, unshakable danger and unexpected feels. Feverborn is simply impossible to put down. . . . I'm not sure how Moning is able to do it after eight books, but each novel proves more exciting than its predecessor as she continues to raise the stakes in this ongoing, exhilarating saga. Feverborn is a fight between ancient magic and renewed determination, a duel between old wounds and deep-seated love. Once again, you won't be able to put this book down."-USA Today

"Feverborn is at once the most gratifying and infuriating (in the best way possible) volume in the series yet. Well, there's a first for everything, but I'd hoped to never experience this one. My review was deleted -

"As the review was predominantly about the author's behavior and not about the book, it violated our review guidelines." This happened

after I'd edited out all of the bits that pertained to anything other than the book itself. So, once again, here's MY BOOK REVIEW, minus the links to MY COMMENTS, which were also deleted.

I wish this series continuation had remained a spin-off about Dani. I know why the main POV shifted from Dani and back to Mac, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I don't. I LOVED Mac and Barrons' story! But, as uncertain as I was about Dani O'Malley's story reaching those heights, I found I really enjoyed the start of what was to be her spin-off, [b:Iced|12444166|Iced (Fever, #6)|Karen Marie Moning|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1333022535s/12444166.jpg|17427104]. Then came [b:Burned|12444297|Burned (Fever, #7)|Karen Marie Moning|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1407503200s/12444297.jpg|40105040], which I liked, but not as much mainly because of the switch back to Mac. So, I started

Mac's POVs were my least favorite. Aside from a 'What the ?!" moment

her dead sister appeared

and her final action

sacrificing herself to save Dani

, I found myself not really caring. I don't want to rehash Mac's story, which was told in the first 5 books. And, while I used to find Mac and Barrons' sexy time hot, now I just wanted to - and sometimes did - roll my eyes. The couple that drew my attention most was Dani and Ryodan.

The good news is that Dani's story arc is continuing. It's just getting muddled down with a larger amount of Mac's POV than I wish to read. I'm hoping [b:Feversong|12446825|Feversong (Fever, #9)|Karen Marie Moning|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|17429860] will return the main focus to Dani/Jada.

Those familiar with the series will know that cliffhangers are common; this installment is no different.
