*2021 reread review*
This felt like reading this series for the first time, like these were completely different books from whatever I read as an angsty teen. I did a mix of audiobook and hardback depending on what I was doing at the time, and I wish I’d gone through with a highlighter. So much…. Gah! Good books. Need to revisit them again sooner rather than later. And I was definitely crying at the end. I have so much more sympathy for Katniss now. I actually really like her character and didn’t find her half so irritating as I did when I was younger.
Also, it’s cool how much of the movies comes directly from the books. Less so in
Mockingjay (for starters, Effie barely makes an appearance), but all of the dialogue and the descriptions? You can tell Suzanne was in TV before she took a break to write books because of how well everything translates to the screen.
I'm sad that I've read all of the books:(
What can I say about this book and the whole trilogy? Brilliant! Loved every minute of it and kept me reading at ridiculous hours lol the series just got better and better and I'm sad it's ended :-( Defo a favourite series of mine and so glad I read it.
really good book ,, so enjoyable but also really emotional parts that i wasn’t expecting and some parts of the book that really makes you understand how hard this would all have effected katniss , would’ve loved it it was spit into two parts though as it was a lot happening at once .
Mockingjay is the conclusion to the
Hunger Games Trilogy. I am taking the easy way out on my review for now. I may come back to it after it's had more time to settle. Suffice to say that I loved it, but am unsure how happy I am with the triangle resolution. That being said, it certainly fits based on how she wrote the final few scenes.
It's sad to see such a fantastic series come to an end. Thanks to Flib for recommending it and Suzanne Collins for writing it!
Well this was better than I thought it would be. At least at the end of this one I was not thinking "How did that even happen". I did smell that Animal Farm twist coming. I am not sure how I feel about who she ended up with...but I can't say it bothered me either. Glad to get some resolution finally.....and for Pete's sake stop the killing. I can't have any more gory deaths of characters I like.
Loved it - it was a little darker than I anticipated, but I still loved it. The ending was a bit of a surprise, but I think it went the right way. I can't wait to read the entire series again, back to back. And of course, I'll continue pushing these books on everyone I know.
A CAWPILE review.

I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.
The final book in the trilogy doesn't disappoint. I read the book straight, in a single sitting. Finished it at 3am when I had to work the following morning. I had a box of kleenex at my side, and believe you me, I used it.
I have been thinking all day about what to write in my review. I have a bunch of friends still reading this book, so, in order to avoid spoilers, it is hard to say much. Let's just leave it with this:
Real or not real?
Real.
Not me halfway through wishing it was more adult and subtle only to remember that the first time I read it I was 16 because it’s a YA dystopian novel for children. I probably liked it more this time than I did the first time but it was still meh. What I wouldn’t give for the whole trilogy to be written in third person limited. It would have been better for all of us.
