Who Would Like This Book:
If you love your romance angsty, thought-provoking, and hotter than sin, Sinner delivers in spades. It’s got forbidden romance vibes, soul-searching about faith and purpose, and character growth that’ll make you hope, hurt, and swoon. Sean Bell’s journey is raw and emotional, and Sierra Simone’s writing perfectly balances steam with substance. This is a great pick if you enjoyed “Priest” or like slow-burn stories that go beyond the bedroom and dig into what makes us human. If you want a romance that makes you think and feel (and maybe cry in the bath), this one’s for you.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Some readers found themselves put off by the heavy focus on religion, grief, and emotional angst, especially compared to the author’s more straightforward steamy beginnings. If you’re not into intense soul-searching, discussions of faith, or age-gap tropes, you might struggle. The story is told only from the male POV, and it doesn’t hold back on either steamy detail or emotional drama, so those looking for lighthearted escapism or dual perspectives may find it less appealing. A heads-up: themes like illness and loss are addressed, so check content warnings if these are sensitive topics for you.

After I read the first I thought I wouldn't continue on with the series, but they keep popping up on my book app and they seem to be loved so I decided to give the second book a try and I'm so glad I did. Not a big reader of taboo/darker romances but they are definitely interesting. It was an intriguing story from start to finish and while the characters wasn't swoony it was a good read and I'll definitely read more by Sierra Simone
New Book Boyfriend! This book was amazing! I couldn’t read/listen fast enough! It was so good! What I didn’t expect was to start sobbing at work while listening. Thank goodness I have my own office and no one could see me. If cancer has ever touched your life in some way or you’ve cared for someone with it, you will understand. This book isn’t just hot. It’s thought provoking and full of emotion. I love Sean Bell even when he’s being an “ash*ole."
