Bloodrose, the final installment in Cremer's
Nightshade trilogy, appears to have been either a major hit or depressing disaster for fans of the first two installments. For me, it was a good read. I didn't loooove it, but I didn't hate it either. As I've said in the past, I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to write ONE book, much less a series that fans grow to love/hate and follow with bated breath. So, I try to keep that in mind when sharing my thoughts and rating a series read. This book is no different.
In the first two books, we learned about Guardians, Keepers and Searchers. By the third and final book, everything we've learned about these three groups has been turned upside down, shaken and stirred.
The Guardians are split, the Keepers are no longer leaders, but deceivers, and the Searchers have found what they've been searching for.
It's time for the final showdown and the heat is on.
Calla, as with most YA para-heroines these days, is not only battling against evil, but also struggling with a doozy of a love triangle. She's been promised to Ren, Banes' Alpha, but after her encounter with Shay she's beginning to question herself and her feelings for both.
From the beginning, I fell for all of the men in Cremer's
Nightshade. I love Mason's witty humor, Shay's adventurous spirit, Connor's big heart, Ansel's inner strength, and Ren as a misunderstood bad boy. For the characters and the addition of some fun shifters in this installment, I gave this book 3.5★.
I am interested in checking out the
