Who Would Like This Book:
This book is an action-packed, witty, and heartfelt finale to the Percy Jackson series, perfect for middle-grade and young teen readers who love mythology given a modern twist. Fans of fast-paced adventures, clever banter, and epic battles will be hooked from the opening scene to the very last page. If you're curious about Greek myths or enjoy stories where friendship and loyalty make a difference, this one will keep you guessing, laughing, and maybe even a little teary-eyed. It's especially great for those looking for a series that balances humor with genuine emotion and high-stakes heroics.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Some readers might not connect with the younger narrative tone or may find the epic battle focus a bit relentless or less character-driven than earlier books. A few wish that secondary characters had more development, or that the outcomes felt less predictable. Adult readers who prefer deeper, more subtle foreshadowing or complex villains might find it a little light, and those wanting the world-building to rival series like Harry Potter could feel it's not quite as immersive.

Reading The Last Olympian felt like experiencing this book for the first time. I am unsure if I blocked out the ending of this incredible series or forgot about it entirely because it has been so long since I last read it. Either way, each page felt "new, " adding to my enjoyment.
Riordan delivered an epic finale. Stakes were high from start to finish. The hero's journey satisfyingly comes full circle through an emotional and thrilling battle and various decisions.

A wonderful conclusion to Percy's story! This series was written for an audience of all ages, and I greatly enjoyed every moment. I loved how the ending provided one with closure, but left room for the author to continue the story in later series.
