I'm so excited about my re-read of this beloved series! Which, if you haven't started yet, you should! Fifteen years and it's still going strong!
I was surprised by how much I remembered and had forgotten. I am raising my initial rating of 4-stars to 5-still-in-love-with-it-stars. Silly 15-year-ago Steph! The uniqueness of this world, its vampire creation process and the lush characters that fill it are still fresh and exciting.

I haven't read any of her other series, Psy-Changeling, etc, but I'll definitely be following Elena, Raphael, their vamp & angel 7 with Dimitri, Venom, Illium the flirtatious blue-winged angel with a weakness for mortals, angel spymaster Jason, and Elena's fellow hunters Sara and Ransom! I really enjoyed the story of angels making vampires and all that goes with that "contract". The characters were intriguing to me and the book left me wanting to know about so many of them. I love it when an old story "vampires" is told in a new and interesting way.
Oh wow. This book was truly fantastic. I can't believe I waited so long to read it!
I loved it. The rich backstory, the complexity of the characters, honestly, I can't think of a single complaint. I simply can't wait to go deeper into this world!
