Who Would Like This Book:
If you love your historical romance with laugh-out-loud moments, a dash of mystery, and truly endearing characters, this book is for you! Annabel is a refreshingly sweet heroine who never lets her convent upbringing dull her personality, and Ross, the rugged Highland laird, is both swoon-worthy and genuinely kind. Their chemistry sizzles, the banter sparkles, and the supporting cast is full of charm. Fans of light, feel-good romance with a marriage-of-convenience twist and plenty of Highland hijinks will have a great time with this one - especially if you enjoy a big-hearted hero and a heroine who grows into her own strength.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Some readers may find Annabel a bit too naive or wish she’d stand up for herself sooner, and the danger she faces might stretch believability with her ‘too stupid to live’ moments. If you prefer historically rich details, you may notice the timeline/setting is pretty vague, with a heavier focus on romance and humor than accuracy. The plot can feel a little formulaic, and if you crave deep emotional angst or slow-burn tension, this is definitely more of a playful, fast-paced romp.

From The Publisher:
From New York Times bestselling author of The Husband Hunt, The Heiress, and other beloved historical romances, comes Lynsay Sands's An English Bride in Scotland, the first book in a new series set in the wilds of the Highlands.
Annabel had planned to become a nun. But when her mother arrives at the Abbey to bring her home to marry a Scottish laird-her runaway sister's intended husband-her life takes a decidedly different turn.
And though Annabel isn't the wife he'd planned for, strong, sexy Ross McKay is taken with his shy, sweet bride.
Annabel knows nothing about being a wife, running a castle-or the marriage bed. But her handsome new husband makes her want to learn. When Annabel's life is threatened, Ross vows to move the highlands itself to save her and preserve the passion that's only beginning to bloom.

This one surprised me on how intriguing the drama was. Was more invested in the drama between the sisters than the romance but really enjoyed my listening experience with this one. Will definitely continue on with the series
