This was great! Less humorous than book 1, but so much more intense. Poor Derek. I am so happy that he gets to find happiness in the end.
Liked it more than I thought I would.
I've heard so much good things about this book. And while I think it's a really good story, I can't say it's going to be my favorite book ever or even the best book I've read in this genre this year. I am even afraid that even though I enjoyed the story, I will forget it quite quickly.
Maybe because there was something a little chaotic about the story. I didn't always quite see where the main characters were going. Or what they think or what their feelings are. And even though I liked these main characters, sometimes I thought their feelings were born a little too quickly and I just can't keep up with them.
Derek and Sara are a nice main couple. They really fit together. They also both have complex personalities that fit in well with the story. Derek also has a tragic past that has shaped him to a large extent. Usually, I'd probably mind that Sarah was almost engaged to another man when she was flirting with Derek, but in this case I had no problem with that. It was very clear that this relationship was going nowhere.
Overall it was a very nice story, although not as good as I expected.
