Who May Not Like This Book:

If you crave twisty, fast-paced thrillers or deeply complex puzzles, you might find this installment a bit gentle. Some modern readers find the language occasionally dense and the mystery less challenging to crack. The story's slower tempo, focus on historical details, and a resolution that leans more on morality than legal justice may not appeal to everyone - especially if you prefer your mysteries strictly by-the-book or action-packed.

Atmospheric and comforting, "Monk's Hood" delivers a medieval mystery with heart, history, and an endearing sleuth - perfect for readers who love character and context as much as the crime itself.

Now this was up to the standard of the first one. An interesting murder, Wales again, and Cadfael using his many talents, all with a dose of monastery politics.
