Who Would Like This Book:
If you're into steamy contemporary romances with authentic, emotionally scarred characters, "Well Bred (Whatever it Takes)" is one for the list. Jake and Kit's chemistry sizzles off the page, and Adriana Anders nails dirty talk while still diving deep into real feelings and messy healing. This book is perfect for fans of the "found family" trope, mature heroines, and stories that offer both passion and tenderness. Highly recommended for readers who love rich, evocative language and characters with depth.
Who May Not Like This Book:
Some readers may find Kit's stubbornness and her strict "rules" a bit too much, leading to frustration with her hesitancy and emotional barriers. If you prefer racing plots over angsty, internal struggles, or want your main couple to spend more of the story happily together, you might get impatient with the slow emotional build and late-breaking epiphanies. Those who like their romance low on self-sabotage might not connect with her.

She wants a baby.
He's just the man for the job.
I'd finally given up on having a family of my own.
Until ex-con Jake Brand walks in. He's six foot five of ink and muscle and the farthest thing from a family man. He's also leaving in a few weeks.
So, when he offers to help out-in my restaurant and in my bed-I cave in and say yes.
But I've got rules, strict ones, to keep everything between us clear:
No touching
No kissing
No emotion
And the lights stay off. Always. Except, it turns out, dirty talking Jake doesn't do rules.
He busts through them one by one and every time, he cracks another piece of the shell protecting my heart.
Now as we're counting down the days until he leaves, I can't help but wonder just how much of me will be left when he's gone.

I give this book a 3.5 out of 5. I really liked that the characters had a deep connection, and that it was really human, their experiences, what they were going through. I also liked the spicy, but I think this book needed a lot less denial between them. I enjoyed it at first, but it was a bit too cold for a really long time. I also believe that some stuff should have been in the book, for example, her telling him what she has been through besides the divorce, about the miscarriage and all that stuff that happened in her past. We never see him learn that. We get his story, what happened with his family, but not exactly what happened with her. And I believe that the last few chapters with his confession everything moved so fast, like the whole thing with the "agreement" dragged on so long, but the end was too rushed. But I like the characters, they were really likeable. And I'll see if I read the second one, because I read the trigger warnings and it has partner sharing, which is not really my thing, but I'll see..
